About the event
Ready for a little more challenge? Tighter turns, steeper grades, even better scenery?
For round two of my summer canyon rides series let's tackle my favorite Utah canyons -- Guardsman Pass, Pine Canyon, Cascade Springs, and Timpanagos Canyon. Everything about this route is just ... more. And I love it.
We're going to meet at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon at 10:30 AM -- KSU at 11 AM. The location is the parking lot for Eight Settlers Restaurant -- don't worry they will be closed at this time -- which is just south west of the 7-11 (the parking lot at the 7-11 is pretty small so we'll just meetup around the corner so we have extra space as needed).
We'll head up Big Cottonwood Canyon, then wind our way up to Guardsman. It's usually busy at the pass and they don't like people stopping on the road so we will head right past it and can take a short break at the turn off to Pine Canyon.
This next bit is the best piece of canyon road near Salt Lake county, so strap in! And down we go through Pine Canyon and into Midway where we'll gas up at the Chevron on Main Street. The road from Midway to Cascade Springs was recently repaved and is quite nice -- and pretty technical if we want it to be! -- and then empties onto SR92 just past Alpine Loop. Then we'll finish out through Timp Canyon.
Once we bottom out from Timp Canyon we'll stop at the Chevron just up the street to debrief and part ways for the day. From here it's a straight shot back to I-15 so easy access to get back home.

As with all The Riderz Foundation rides this is free to attend and open to anyone on or off Facebook.
And as with all rides please make sure your bike is up to the task with tires/pressures in good order, chain/belts properly tensioned and cleaned, full tank of gas, etc. And make sure YOU are ready to go as well!
Looking forward to this one, and excited to see you all there!
